"What Kind of Lover Are You?"

If you want to be loved, be love…

“What Kind of Lover Are You?”  Are you the kind of lover who is willing to die for your beloved?  What if the death was not physical, but rather a relational, emotional or self-denial type of death?  It might include putting to death selfish narcissistic insensitive or unloving self-absorbed behaviors in favor of sustainable healthy relationships.  Consider Queen Esther of the bible, who was willing “to die,” for the health and welfare of a nation.

Being Forgiven, How Well Do You Receive?

Being Forgiven

When our heart remains open and we are able to give and receive forgiveness well, death leaves and life comes.

Judas Iscariot, in scripture was a sent one of The Christ. But he, in my humble opinion, did not accept or receive forgiveness well.  Instead, he allowed perceived rejection and hopelessness to drive him to his death.

Of course he was despised and rejected by those who loved and followed the Lord. But, at times, I believe we make life changing and lifetime decisions on limited information.

What If?

Over the weekend, I took two of my grandchildren out for lunch.  While they colored, made messes and got on each other's nerves, I daydreamed, yet caught a glimpse of a couple leaving the restaurant.  He seemed collegiate and she was attractive.  However, I couldn't help noticing her attire.  She wore a very short skirt with quite a bit of skin showing.  Her midriff top exposed her back and front and the tightness of it couldn't hide her frontal anatomy.  I wondered to myself, what if, when the young man picked her up, he said "I'm sorry, but you will have to change your clothes.

Celebrating the gift of life.  How often we take for granted the gift God gives to us everyday - Astounding!!!  What are you doing with your gift?  Are you using it to bring joy to others?  I hope so.  Today I'm smiling - actually, we should always smile.  Sometimes Ihave to remind myself to do so.  You know, life sometimes!!! Anyhow, I've had to go back to my chiropractor, getting older really is no joke.  Nonetheless, as I walked today, I smiled because I could walk - a little more gingerly than usual, but it was on my own feet, in my own strength.

Christian Love

Good Morning,

So blessed to have another day of grace.  I hope everyone experienced a safe, happy and restful Memorial Day weekend and that the summer season brings joy and fulfillment.  I was thinking the other day, after considering some challenging events happening around me, that we are not loving one another as we of faith have been commanded to do. It breaks my heart to see how quick we are to condemn, but we are no where near as quick to extend grace and mercy.
